Yosemite Elopement Photographer

I’m Sara, a Yosemite elopement photographer helping couples plan and document intimate weddings in Yosemite National Park… Yosemite isn’t just a place to get married, it’s an experience that shapes the entire day.

The light moves fast, the weather does what it wants, and the crowds come and go. Eloping here takes a little intention… and the right guide in your corner.

I photograph Yosemite elopements for couples who want their day to feel grounded, unrushed, and deeply personal.

Whether you’re dreaming of granite cliffs at sunrise, quiet moments in the pines, or a slow wander through the valley, I help you plan a day that feels like you  then document it honestly as it unfolds. No forced moments. No performative wedding energy. Just real love in a place that makes you feel something.

The Process

How To elope in Yosemite!

Step 01Step 02Step 03Step 04Step 05

Let’s Connect

It starts with a laid-back conversation. No pressure, no salesy energy  just two humans getting to know each other, over a virtual margarita, You’ll tell me what you’re dreaming up (even if it’s still messy or half-formed), and I’ll walk you through what an elopement experience in Yosemite can actually look like. We’ll make sure we’re a good fit and start shaping what you want your day to feel like.

Step 01Step 02Step 03Step 04Step 05

Locked In

When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll choose the experience that fits your vision and make things official with a signed contract and retainer. This is the moment it goes from “we’re thinking about eloping” to “holy sh*t, we’re doing this.” Your date is secured, and you can move into planning with clarity and zero second-guessing.

Step 01Step 02Step 03Step 04Step 05

Plan the Adventure

This is where the magic gets grounded. Together, we’ll map out your Yosemite elopement in a way that actually feels good — dialing in locations, building a timeline that flows with light and crowds, and navigating permits and logistics. I’ll create a personalized plan for your day so you’re not stuck piecing things together from Google and Pinterest. The goal? A day that feels unrushed, intentional, and fully yours.

Step 01Step 02Step 03Step 04Step 05

Live the Damn Day

Your only job is to be present and wildly in love. I’ll photograph intuitively — letting real moments unfold — while offering gentle guidance when it’s helpful and keeping the day flowing without ever making it feel rushed or staged. You get to wander, breathe, laugh, get dusty, maybe cry a little, and actually experience your elopement while I document it all as it happens.

Delivery Day

Within a week, you’ll get sneak peeks to relive the feeling of your day right away. Your full gallery arrives within 8-12 weeks — a thoughtful, timeless collection of images that holds the emotion, movement, and quiet moments you didn’t even realize were happening. These are the photos you’ll come back to years from now — little time machines back to the day you chose each other in the wild.

Frequently Asked Questions

do we need a Permit to Elope in Yosemite? +

Yes — Yosemite National Park requires a Special Use Permit for all elopements and weddings. It costs $150, and I’ll help you through the entire process, including picking a location that’s approved for ceremonies. You’ll want to apply at least 30 days in advance, but earlier is always better.

What’s the best time of year to elope in Yosemite? +

I recommend eloping between May and October — especially in early spring and fall when the light is dreamy and the crowds are lighter. Winter elopements can be beautiful too, but higher elevation areas (like Glacier Point or Taft Point) may be closed due to snow. I’ll help you pick the best date and spot based on what matters most to you.

Can we bring guests to our Yosemite elopement? +

Absolutely. Most designated ceremony spots in the park allow between 10–30 guests, but some are better suited for intimate "just us" vibes. I’ll help you choose a spot that matches your guest count, accessibility needs, and the kind of energy you want on your day.

Where are the best places to elope in Yosemite? +

Some of my favorite locations include:

Taft Point – Cliffside drama at sunset

Glacier Point – Iconic Half Dome views (open seasonally)

Cook’s Meadow – Lush meadows with epic backdrops

Cathedral Beach – Riverside vows with granite walls When we work together, you’ll get a full location guide with all the dreamy options — plus tips on timing, lighting, and privacy.

What if we want to hike or do something adventurous? +

Heck yes! Whether it’s a short hike to Taft Point, a sunrise summit, or post-ceremony portraits in the river — I’ll build a timeline that supports your adventure. I always prioritize safety, light, and the story you want to tell.

They Said it, not me

I honestly don’t have the words to fully express how thankful I am for Sara.

She captured one of the most important and emotional moments of my life…m surprise engagement. From the very beginning, Sara was kind, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. She blended into the background seamlessly, which made the surprise feel so natural and genuine. And when I finally saw the photos… I was blown away. Every smile, every tear, every little detail was frozen in time so beautifully. These photos mean the world to us. They’re not just pictures—they’re memories we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives. You are truly exceptional at what you do. Thank you! If you’re looking for someone to capture the real, raw, joyful moments in your life, stop searching—you found her.
