Hailee and Jared’s Golden Engagement Session in Ocean Beach

desertbornstudios-Ocean beach-engagment session_-24_websize.jpg

These two met playing t-ball together when they were young. Later on he slid into her MySpace DMs (lol) in 8th grade and they were best friends throughout high school. Following high school they attended the same college (unintentionally!). During their freshman year, after 6 years of telling him that she didn’t want to ruin our friendship, she finally gave him that chance and… well, the rest is history. Their journey was beautifully captured by an Ocean Beach Photographer.

Of the 15 years that they have known each other, 8 of them have been together. They shared with me that although they’ve been together for so long, they only have a handful of pictures together. So this felt a little extra special for me. I was able to not only do this shoot for all the usual incredible reasons, but for them, it was a little more. I made it possible that they had more than a handful of photos together!

It was so fun creating their shoot. Their love for road maps and travel is strong- so we made sure to include that. It was fascinating to watch it fold out. We began with the road map shots, and I feel like it brought a sense of familiarity and comfort for them. I love incorporating unique themes into my shoots based on the couple. Not only does it make each shoot special and one of a kind, but also gives the couple a sense of ownership and belonging as well. It’s a win win!
